Synopsis
In a village of black and white, where “everything is perfect” and anything deemed too different or dangerous must be banished, censored and declared illegal, two children, Zack and Abra, encounter an impossible creature made of light and color and follow it to a precarious ecosystem where everything forbidden still exists. There they find Max, the ferocious half boy/half wolf; the Wizard, who presides over a hospital for abused and battered language; Magda, a soothsayer who holds the entire history of the theatre in a pageant wagon; and the Bag Lady, who keeps the secrets of everything lost and found. Zack and Abra unwittingly wreak havoc when their unacknowledged Fear escapes their bodies and threatens to destroy everything it encounters. This political parable explores the power of creativity, imagination, artistic expression and freedom of choice, as it celebrates the courage of children.
