Synopsis

A young student is charged with murder. The process of justice has begun, and the ultimate verdict appears certain. The defendant quarreled violently with the victim. The murder weapon belongs to him, and he was seen near the scene of the crime. He tells an improbable story about another assailant and a possible witness but, despite repeated appeals, there's no response from the alleged witness. The student's fiancee tries to help, but she has nothing to offer except her faith in his integrity—a faith shared by no one else, for the student's increasing bitterness over our society and legal system make him seem angry and violent. As he's ready do denounce the entire human race, he's given reason to have faith, both in people and in our system, in which the weak can find courage to face their fears. An admirable contest play.
