Synopsis

This upbeat, funny and tuneful telling of the story of Moses focuses on his teenage years. Despite "leading the normal life of a Pharaoh-in-waiting" (i.e. diction lessons, slave management and going to all the palace balls), Moses knows that Pharoah's daughter is not his real mother. But it is only when he meets Miriam, a wacky, clairvoyant Hebrew slave, that he learns of his true identity. After killing the slave-driver Tinactin, Moses goes into hiding (taking the name Charlton Heston) but eventually returns to Egypt to lead the Jewish people to freedom. Contemporary, off-the-wall humor and a dynamic score give this familiar story a refreshing new spin.

Customer Reviews

Holy Moses! is an enjoyable, easy-to-learn, easy-to-produce musical. The biggest problem with it, according to our audience, is that it wasn't long enough! They wanted more!!
