Synopsis
As lawyer Seymour Mead finishes reading Ridgely Randolph's will to the assemblage of greedy relatives and servants, the treasure hunt begins! You see, several generations of Randolphs have hidden millions of dollars within the house, and the family has been murdering each other over it ever since. Now diabolical Uncle Ridgely has hidden $20 million and the land grant to his estate, and the terms of his will give the family only 24 hours to find the money and the grant or go penniless. The ghosts of the murdered relatives are doomed to wander through the passageways behind the paneling forever unless the mystery is solved and their spirits are released. Three of the ghosts pitch in to help the undeserving living as they tear the place apart in this fast, funny and fresh comedy. The humor ranges from witty drawing-room dialogue to all-out slapstick in this hearty madcap romp. Do they find the land grant in time? Who ends up with the money? And does everyone live—and die—happily ever after? The results will surprise you!

We enjoyed performing "Murder Most Fouled Up." The play was staged by the Lions Club and the money raised went to charitable organizations. All four audiences roared with laughter during the shows. Without a doubt, "Murder" was a big hit!
A well written comedy that was fun to rehearse and to perform. This show provided challenging characters and staging and was a great crowd pleaser. It was directed by a senior student as his graduation project and was very successful for him (as a first-time director) and for the actors working with him.
The students loved producing this play. It was challenging to create the interaction between the ghosts and the "living" family.
This was an incredibly fun play to produce and direct. The crazy, fast-paced action through all the secret panels kept the audience guessing and laughing all at once. Bordering on melodrama acting, we hammed up the facial expressions and got lots of laughs.
Audience members delighted in the thrilling antics in this mystery-comedy. Cast members especially enjoyed the physical humor in the play and had nothing but good things to say.
Hints, Tips, and Tricks
We used a ghost portrait for the spirits to watch the activity by mounting a life-size portrait on foam core and cutting out their faces. They were hinged so that they could open and the ghosts' faces fit into the openings.
