Bocón!

I loved telling this story with my students (high school) This story resonated with them (and our audience) whether that was because they shared a cultured with Miguel, have heard stories of La Llorona, had been/ known someone who has been displaced or understood what its like to loose their voice/find their voice and speak up for what they believe in. As a director, it was awesome to be able to underscore the entire piece and use movement to tell this story.

An important piece of knowledge that the students took away from the production was how to implement humor and comedic timing in a play whose content is quite dark, but whose text lends to moments of laughter and release.
