Quincy Long is a member of Ensemble Studio Theatre, the New Dramatists and the HB Playwrights Unit. His most recent work includes The Lively Lad, The Year of the Baby and The Joy of Going Somewhere Definite. He has received commissions from the Mark Taper Forum, South Coast Repertory Theatre, Soho Repertory Theatre, A.S.K. Projects and the Sundance Children's Theatre. He has been produced by the Magic Theatre, the Atlantic Theater Company, EnGarde Arts, and Berkely Repertory Theatre, among others. In 1986, he won the ASCAP/Cole Porter prize for playwriting at the Yale School of Drama, was a runner up for the Kesselring Prize in 1993, and a finalist for the Outer Circle Drama Critics Award in 1994. In 1996 her won the Fund for New American Plays Award.
