Martha Yordy has been composing for children's theatre for 20 years. Some of her shows include Jack and the Beanstalk, Hansel and Gretel, Rumplestiltskin and The Pied Piper of Hamelin, all written with David and Julie Payne. She has also written a musical (Communiqué in Athens) and composed extensively for drama and dance. Her drama credits include Steel Magnolias, Harvey's Boy, Our Country's Good and Oedipus Rex. Her dance piece, Lettuce Waltz, was performed by the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York. Her orchestral arranging credits include Barnaby's Song (music and lyrics by Yordy) and Floretta for the musical Babes in Toyland and Down by the Riverside for the Jefferson Symphony. Yordy's choral works are published by Voice of the Rockies in Boulder, Colorado.
