John Olive's Actors Theatre of Louisville productions include Clara's Play, Killers and Evelyn and the Polka King. Other plays included Standing on My Knees, Minnesota Moon, The Voice of the Prairie and The Aspern Papers. Olive's work has been widely produced. His most recent play, The Summer Moon, won a 1997 Kennedy Center Award for Drama, premiered in 1998 at A Contemporary Theatre in Seattle, and played in 1999 at South Coast Repertory. Olive has written screenplays and teleplays for Disney, Amblin Entertainment, MGM/UA and Lorimar, among others. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife Mary and their son Michael.
