Elizabeth Wong is a playwright, theatre director, sitcom writer, poet, multimedia artist and playwriting professor at Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Her family plays and musicals are often comedic, coupled with social justice issues. She’s received commissions from the Kennedy Center, Honolulu Theatre for Youth, Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Her TYA plays include Prometheus, Ibong Adarna: A Filipino Folktail, Boid & Oskar, Goloshes of Fortune and The Amazing Adventures of the Marvelous Monkey King. Her other plays include @Lys, Letters to a Student Revolutionary, China Doll, Kimchee and Chitlins, Space Nuns of the Rescue Mainframe and Dating & Mating in Modern Times. Wong has also recently produced and written Voices of the Universe, an immersive art/soundscape inspired by NASA sonifications, using images from the Los Angeles Astronomical Society. Her installation was exhibited at the historic Mount Wilson Observatory and Taxco Theatre’s gallery. She also writes first-person essays for The Los Angeles Times and poetry with a five-member women’s collective founded by novelist E.E. King. Their first book, An Illegal Feast, is published by Broadstone Books. Wong is a member of the Dramatists Guild and the Writers Guild of America West.
