Ed Simpson's full-length plays have been widely produced throughout the United States and Canada and include Additional Particulars (2000, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award, Backstage West Garland Award for Playwriting), Elephant Sighs, Periphery, The Battle of Shallowford, The Comet of St. Loomis and A Point of Order. He wrote the musical adaptation of The Amazing Goldin with composer Elizabeth Feller for the Electric Theatre Company, Scranton, Pa. His one-act plays include Carving Rocks, Standing Up V and E, Pratt Falls, Cityscape and Sounds of the Shoah. Adaptations include A Christmas Carol; Dancing With Father and Ladies and Gentlemen, This Is Your Crisis! A screenwriter and television writer, Simpson has written for the acclaimed ABC Family Channel series State of Grace as well as the screenplays Elephant Sighs, Vin Fiz and Apparently Leaving. He is professor of theater and chair of the Department of Theater at High Point University, High Point, N.C., and lives with his wife, Cydney, in Winston-Salem.
