David Shaw-Parker trained at RADA. Extensive appearances at the Royal Shakespeare Company include William in As You Like It for Trevor Nunn, Jamy in Henry V, Barry in A&R, Ballon in Peer Gynt, Gilbert in The Body, Seacoal in Much Ado About Nothing (Europe, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C.), Bellerose in Cyrano de Bergerac (London and Broadway NY) and Grumio in The Taming of the Shrew (UK Tour and Tokyo, Japan). At the Royal National Theatre, he appeared as Lord Boxington in Trevor Nunn's production of My Fair Lady which later transferred to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane for two years. Other London appearances include Cyrano de Bergerac (Haymarket), Grand Hotel for Tommy Tune (Dominion), Up n' Under (Fortune), Trial By Fire, Milkwood Blues, Bondsongs (Lyric Hammersmith), A Fine Romance, Saratoga (Aldwych), A Dead Secret with Edward Woodward and Arsenic and Old Lace (Richmond Theatre). Television includes Joey in "I Woke Up One Morning," "Leprechauns," "The Bill," "The Famous Five," "Space Precinct," "Inspector Morse," "Casualty," "Crossroads," "Cyrano de Bergerac," "Molire," "Spot the Difference," "The Vinyl Solution," "Omnibus," "The South Bank Show" and "Arena." Films include Kafka for Steven Sonderbergh, Lacuna, Diary of a Surreal Killer and The Muppets' Christmas Carol in which he is the voice of Joe the Spider. He narrates the popular children's cartoon series "The Brollys" and supplies voices for "The Mister Men" and "P.C. Pinkerton" for BBC 1. As a musical composer, he has written the music for Donne Undonne, Sweet Alice, Alone/Yes (RSC 1977/78), The Family Album (Vienna 1981), The Changeling (London 1985) and Crowning Blows (Ballet; London). In 1982 he collaborated with playwright Edward Bond on Derek (RSC/Thames Television 1983), Red Black and Ignorant (RSC), The War Plays (RSC) and culminating in "Bondsongs" (Solo Album of work by Edward Bond to music; JJ Records I985). He also performed solo concerts of the "Bondsongs" in London, New York and Washington, D.C.). 1999 saw the release of his first CD "Bistrovia," a collection of original Mediterranean guitar instrumentals, and the re-launch on CD of his first album "Euromance" which features similar compositions. His third Mediterranean guitar CD entitled "Noucentisme" was released in 2002 and has been receiving radio air play on national radio including BBC Radio Three and Jazz FM.
