Allison Gregory’s plays have been produced nationally and
internationally. She has received commissions and development from Oregon
Shakespeare Festival, The Kennedy Center, South Coast Repertory, Indiana
Repertory Theatre, Playwrights’ Center, Geva Theatre Center, Seattle Rep, ACT
Theater, Orlando Shakes, the National New Play Network (NNPN), Northwest
Playwrights Alliance and ScriptWorks. She has had residencies with Hedgebrook, The
New Harmony Project, Banff Playwrights Lab and Playwrights’ Center, where she
is a core alumna. Her work includes Not Medea and Wild Horses, which have received
multiple rolling world premieres through NNPN; Motherland, a reimagining
of Brecht’s Mother Courage for a diverse world; and The Loyals. Gregory’s
plays for young audiences include Go, Dog. Go!, adapted from the P.D.
Eastman book and co-written with Steven Dietz; Ronia, the Robber’s Daughter,
adapted from the Astrid Lindgren novel; Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman
Smells!, Junie B. Jones Is Not a Crook and Junie B., Toothless
Wonder, each adapted from the beloved book series by Barbara Park. Gregory
has been recognized by TYA/USA as one of “The Most-Produced TYA Playwrights of
2019/20.” Her plays are published by Dramatic Publishing, Playscripts, Smith
& Kraus and Rain City Press.
