Alan W. Gill, with a degree in physics and mathematics, is not your usual suspect for writing music and developing musicals. However, his passion was always in the performing arts, even while working as a software consultant and systems analyst. He has appeared in and directed many professional and amateur theatre productions in the Chicago area and was the resident musical director at Stage Right Dinner Theatre in suburban Chicago. His voice can be heard reading a number of children's books on tape as well as local TV/radio commercials and industrial training videos. Gill has written, arranged and performed music for a number of recording artists including Laura Derocher, Stephanie Keenum and Craig Dunham. He has teamed with Thomas Rieser for many worship dramas written for the church and two full-scale musicals. Gill lives in Greenville, N.C., and is currently the Worship Leader and Director of Contemporary Music at St. James United Methodist Church.
